About This Course
The RegAgri4Europe Course is an 8 weeks Online Course on Regenerative Agriculture teaching apprentices and farmers skills and knowledge in the field of Regenerative Agriculture.
The training programme consists of the following Modules/Lectures:
1. Background, context, insights into Regenerative Agriculture
2. Reasons & principles behind Regenerative Agriculture
3. Regenerative Agriculture in practice I: Vegetable production, with focus on market garden systems
4. Regenerative Agriculture in practice II: Agricultural production
5. Regenerative Agriculture in practice III: Other practices for large scale implementation
6. Benefits/potentials of Regenerative Agriculture for the environment, the society, human health
What you will learn
After your participation in the course you will gain a deeper understanding on Regenerative Agriculture, while you will have received practical solutions to transform agriculture landscapes and practices resulting in sustainable cultivation methods, balanced ecosystems and healthy products

The course is ultimately targeted to farmers, students, apprentices and other interested persons with an agricultural background.
Mr. Stefan Schwarzer holds a diploma in Applied Physical Geography and has 20 years background working for the United Nations Environment Program, mainly in the field of environmental sciences. Has initiated many environmental projects on local, national, regional and global scales. Author of dozens of publications for UNEP and the University of Geneva around global environmental data, challenges and solutions. Participated in the Global Environmental Outlook as well as annual UNEP reports series. He holds a diploma in permaculture design and has spent much of his time over the last decade advancing information around regenerative agricultural solutions. He is author of the first German book about regenerative agriculture. Is the initiator and organizer of the first German speaking annual conference on Regenerative Agriculture held in Schloss Tempelhof since 2017 and is the producer of the first webinar series on regenerative agriculture. He has on-field experience on the eco-farm he is living on, working in close relationship with other practitioners bringing the movement on the ground.
Mr. Sebastian Heilmann is Schloss Tempelhof Farm manager and head of vegetable field crops, grain, pasture and the market garden since 2014. He graduated a 4-year Biodynamic Farming Training Program. Online continued education in: soil biology, composting, microscopy and farm planning. Responsible for planning and implementing regenerative practices on cropland and pasture. Instructor for trainees in farming at Schloss Tempelhof. Member of the research project for regenerative agriculture at Foundation Schloss Tempelhof since 2015. Holds regular talks and gives tours on the topic of market gardening, regenerative vegetable growing and cover cropping. Has developed and holds workshops on market gardening, farm planning and regenerative practices. Member of the core group initiating a biodynamic farm training program for Southern Germany.
Mrs. Maya Heilmann (native English speaker) holds a B.A. in Agricultural Anthropology (Goddard College), and graduated a 4-year Biodynamic Training Program for Vegetable Production, and a 2-year Farm Management Program (Warmonderhof). Online continued education in: soil biology, composting and farm planning. Schloss Tempelhof farm manager and head of nursery, vegetable breeding projects, greenhouse production and employee coordination since 2014. Instructor for trainees in vegetable production at Schloss Tempelhof. Member of the research project for regenerative agriculture at Schloss Tempelhof. She holds regular talks and gives tours on the topic of no-till Greenhouse production, cover cropping, intercropping and market gardening. She has developed and holds workshops on market gardening, farm planning and regenerative vegetable production.
Mrs. Helene Urbain holds a diploma in Microbiology and has background working in the field of medical diagnostics, assessment of environmental pollution and sustainable regional development. Member of the research project for regenerative agriculture at Foundation Schloss Tempelhof since 2017. She supervised scientific work and is responsible for the implementation of the data collection of the research focus on soil structure.
Mrs. Myrto Siapardani holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Environment with a specialization in Vegetative Production from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has dedicated her thesis on Apiculture and the development of alternative bee-products. She has worked as an intern close to a Producer of Organic Honey and also in an Organic Farm for 3 months. From 2015 she is working within the sector of EU Funded Projects. Her interests lie among sustainability, organic agriculture and sustainable food systems.
Prof. George Papadakis, Agricultural University of Athens (AUA)
George Papadakis is Professor of Renewable Energy Technology and Director of the Laboratory of Farm Machine Systems at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), http://www.afp.aua.gr/?page_id=1053&lang=en. For more than twenty-five years at the Agricultural University of Athens, Papadakis’s research and educational efforts have focused on sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, energy efficiency, water desalination in combination with renewable energy and heat and mass transfer in farm buildings. Since 1996 he has been scientific coordinator of more than 34 projects (of which 20 were multi-partner international projects funded by the European Commission). He has successfully supervised 5 PhD students to complete their research and he is currently supervising 3 PhD students. He has also supervised more than 20 MSc students. He has cooperated with public and private organizations from more than 35 countries in Europe and internationally as well as in research projects funded by the European Union and other international and national organizations. He has authored/co-authored more than 200 publications with more than 9200 citations, index h=50 (Google scholar, March 2022). Papadakis is the founding Editor in Chief of one international scientific journal and member of the Editorial Boards of seven international scientific journals. He is also a founding member of the International Academy of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (2016), and a member of the European Academy of Sciences (2020).
Evangelos Dimitriou, Agricultural University of Athens (AUA)
Mr. Evangelos Dimitriou is an Agricultural Engineer, MSc, PhD candidate at AUA. He holds a post-graduate diploma on “Renewable Energy Systems”. He has more than 9-year experience in both teaching and research in the field of renewable energy and water treatment. His research interests include sustainable agriculture, regenerative agriculture, water management systems, water desalination systems and water treatment systems powered by renewable energy. He works as a researcher at AUA and he has participated in 7 EU funded and 5 Greek national projects with a more than 10 years’ experience. He was aslo participated as an assistant project manager in the implementation of two ERASMUS plus projects on training and educating farmers and university students on sustainable farming. He has published 25 papers, including 5 in peer-reviewed international journals and 20 in international and national conferences.
Dr. Gudrun Voggenreiter holds a PhD in literature and linguistics and has 30 years background as trainer and VET manager in different institutions and companies. She has initiated several study programs in schools and universities and accompanied them to certification. She was responsible as CEO for the study programs and teaching and research of a private university. In the last 4 years she works for ERASMUS+ projects in different roles, as coordinator and as teacher / researcher.
